Isopropyl Alcohol, also known as Isopropanol and IPA, is an organic compound that is the simplest example of a secondary alcohol. It is a colorless liquid that has a strong alcoholic odor and is flammable. There are many end-use applications for Isopropyl Alcohol and one of the most common applications is as a solvent for the paints and coatings industries. IPA is also often used for medical applications in products such as rubbing alcohol, hand sanitizer and disinfecting pads. It generally has a purity level of a minimum of 99.5%.
